Hospitality Management
Magnolia's

From its prestigious location in Charleston’s historic district to it's dynamic Southern cuisine, Magnolias combines old world charm with contemporary excitement. Chefs Donald Barickman and Don Drake are recognized as pioneers in the creative use of the Lowcountry’s bounty. Magnolias’ main dining room features high ceilings, pine floors, wrought-iron accents and stunning paintings by Taos artist, Rod Goebel. Magnolias has been a member of the prestigious Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRONA) since 1995 and has received awards and widespread recognition from other dining authorities such as Gourmet Magazine, The New York Times, The Food Network and Southern Living Magazine.

The New York Times sums it up best: "Recommended by a lifelong Charlestonian... Magnolias was my best meal in a city of great food."

Cypress

Renowned Chef, Donald Barickman and Hospitality Management Group, Inc. (HMGI) founder, Thomas J. Parsell, the creative team behind Magnolias and Blossom Cafe, are pleased with the response to their newest venture, Cypress Lowcountry Grille. Located in the heart of Charleston’s charming Historic District, Cypress features fresh interpretations of classic Lowcountry cuisine. The restaurant become Charleston’s hottest new place to dine and was recently named to Esquire Magazine’s list of "Best New Restaurants, 2001." Additionally, Charleston’s Post & Courier raves, "In opening Cypress they have raised the bar for Charleston restaurants. This is a special place".

Barickman and Executive Chef, Craig Deihl collaborated on the menu for Cypress, which highlights the rich bounty of the Lowcountry, from the waters to the farmlands. An authentic wood-burning grill is a prominent feature of the dining room. The grill has a major emphasis on the cuisine, adding distinctive flavor to meats, fish and some vegetable dishes. Tableside presentations and made-to-order dessert soufflés add a dramatic touch to Cypress’s dining experience.

Blossom

Executive Chef Randy Williams and Founding Chef Donald Barickman have created a new menu at Blossom focusing on fresh seafood with local flair. Distinctive flavors enhance a variety of seafood options producing invigorated American cuisine with southern sensibility.

Blossom celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an extensive renovation project expanding the exhibition style kitchen to accommodate the menu innovations. Just steps from the Charleston harbor, Blossom is the perfect spot for sumptuous seafood. The casual yet high-energy atmosphere is complemented by a courtyard dining alternative and a newly added dining area over looking East Bay Street.
